Darwin (Evolution)

we also thougt the earth was flat

  2. Shon [5] opinó:

How about simply going with “Historical, physical, FACTS”. This way we can put both sides to rest. Darwin’s theory cannot explain the simple fact that there are several aspects to the existence of “ALL” and how it came into being that are not evolutionary. And believing in a bearded dude up on a cloud is equally or even more preposterous than the other. The heavens, at the time of humans creating the “Singular God”, were unknown and seen as a black covering with holes poked through it. The world was “FLAT”, and we were at the center of everything. The bible speaks in circular logic where in one sentence it says this and the next it kills itself. It is and always will be……. “CREATED BY MAN!!!!!”. The darwin theory is, (Pardon the pun), of the same cloth. His “Revolutionary, earth shaking, foundation rumbling, projections, theories, and claims were, at the time, “Cutting Edge”, to say the least. But a hundred years have passed and a hundred increasingly logical concepts have come to roost and I am sure eventually will lay waste to their predecessors. But for the sake of this discussion, I will make this claim with certainty, the answers will be incredible and mundane at the same time. And once discovered, will reshape our understanding of so much. But keeping your faith is fine, for you, and not having one is also fine for you. But neither are standing the test of time.

  7. Denis [66] opinó:

Actually, not pure Darwin but things that evolve from it.
Because the Bible (as well as Qur’an or Tora or …) was created for some political purposes. That denies religion.
And because, there’s no proof at all that any “supercreature” like god ever existed. That denies faith.

  8. Milly opinó:

Because my desire to learn is greater than my need to believe. Creationism teaches us to be content with not understanding the world, which is somthing I cannot accept.

The bible is used to control people and stop them from thinking for themselves. They don’t believe Santa, the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny because they are fictitious characters, yet they believe there’s an invisible man in sky watching your every move. Isn’t voyeurism a sin?

My favourite movie quote from The Devil’s Advocate:

MILTON: … Guilt is like a bag of fucking bricks. All you gotta is set it down… Who are you carrying all those bricks for anyway? God? Is that it? God? Well I tell you. Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He’s a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift and then what does he do? I swear, for his own amusement, his own private cosmic gag reel he sets the rules in opposition. It’s the goof of all time. Look but don’t touch. Touch but don’t taste. Taste but don’t swallow. And while you’re jumping on one foot to the next, what is he doing? He’s laughing his sick fucking ass off. He’s a tight ass. He’s a sadist. He’s an absentee-landlord! Worship that? Never!

LOMAX: Better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven. Is that it?

MILTON: Why not? I’m here on the ground with my nose in it since the whole thing began. I’ve nurtured every sensation man has been inspired to have. I cared about what he wanted, and I never judged him. Why? Because I never rejected him in spite of all his imperfections…I’m a humanist.

I laugh at the “Religion Sheeps”, I’m sorry but evolution makes too much sense for me to believe that fairytale known as the Bible.

  11. kelly opinó:

The Bible is a book written by a bunch of white men in cloaks who wanted society to live in a particular way. The Bible is a set of spoon-fed beliefs created in order to preserve order. These men wanted people to not have sex, drink alcohol, or enjoy their lives, but rather live under a code. Evolution makes sense. Everything that is sensical in our world is proven by science, not by some benevolent creator that we only have to listen to “sometimes.” Most people who follow Christianity only follow it “sometimes,” when they want to. They’ll have sex before marriage, but they’re still hardcore believers, right? It just doesn’t apply to them then.

Religion is the downfall to our humanity.

One is a scientific corpus of evidence collected over hundreds of years. The other is a (religiously relevant) myth compiled a few thousand years ago without any background

  13. Anonymous opinó:

Of course he is right. The God myth is just a warm, comfy, lie.

  14. Anonymous opinó:

because its simple and true, well more true that the bible

Putting your life in the hands of a God that may not be there helps no one. A scientific understanding helps everyone.

    Simply correct

4 reasons for

The Bible (Creation)

  1. tammy [1] opinó:

bible says we were made in the image of God we did not come from monkeys

  2. Anonymous opinó:

why doesn’t the bible include any cavemen?

  3. kyeyamwa mart [1] opinó:

The mystery of how information is “coded.” Scientists can SEE the human brain, can MEASURE electrical pulses traveling within the brain, etc., but how can this explain our thoughts? The article goes on to draw this comparison:

“The challenge is something like popping the cover off a computer, measuring a few transistors chattering between high and low voltage, and trying to guess the content of the Web page being surfed.”
Science will never find this out because the origin of our thoughts are not physical, they are from the SPIRIT of man within us. And spiritual things can’t be put into a test tube

  4. Anonymous opinó:

Why not both? Call me a radical Christian, but I believe that God tossed all the ingredients down here and let time and environment sort it all out.
