Romance is better for the human soul. You can look up to the characters in Casablanca and their noble sacrifice, instead of looking down on the wasted life of Charles Foster Kane.

Casablanca is extraordinary; it embodies every emotion – bitterness, pain, heartbreak, love, loyalty, redemption… It has intrigue, romance, drama, humor, even action. Citizen Kane was experimental and a good film. But the dialogue, performances and plot of Casablanca blow it out of the water.

Ask yourself this . . . how many sayings, still used after nearly 70 years, came from Casablanca? Now how many came from Citizen Kane?
