    I think it’s done primarily so that spammers don’t get the back links they are trying for. But as you have found Wordpress does have a widget that will allow site owners to allow the google to follow the link provided

    I’m slanting both ways here. If it was done as meant to be dofollow FTW!
    But since there’s a lot of comment abuse (not spam) as example, leave a legit comment, but use a keyword and a link to your company instead of a real name…

    But for “legit” comments etc. yes, dofollow is a great incentive!

    “nofollow” is a got way to make comment spam not paying back.
    Starting the day I did nofollow on comments, spam went down.
    (Before I implemented ReCaptcha)

    Fireworks was created for this reason, therefore is much better than Photoshop in craeting graphics for web designing.

    Fireworks optimizes images better for the web if you do apples to apples. In other words, if you set the optimization settings to 80% in both programs for JPG’s Fireworks shaves off much more.
