Should parental leave be longer?

What do you think about the time that a mother (or father) takes off from work for the birth or adoption of a child? It´s depend on the country but in general do you think maternity leave, parental or family leave should be longer?

    WTF Mike? How can you say that? Goverments have to support family raising. If not we´ll soon be a very old society don´t you think?

    If you mean the 9 months plus an uncertainty amount of time I think is quite enough already.

    I don´t want to be misunderstood but if you want to be a mother/father then you should leave your job and take car of your children fulltime

    In our country it’s a formality: as soon as person comes out of it, she (or he:)) usually gets sacked.
