Web Graphics | Photoshop vs. Fireworks

Photoshop Extremo suggested this dichotomy. Which one of these two applications is the best for creating web graphics? Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Fireworks? Why?

    Fireworks was created for this reason, therefore is much better than Photoshop in craeting graphics for web designing.

    Fireworks optimizes images better for the web if you do apples to apples. In other words, if you set the optimization settings to 80% in both programs for JPG’s Fireworks shaves off much more.
