Because he will use the same tactics as his predecessor and if that doesn’t work then he will commit fraud and many ignorant Mexicans will go along with it, just as they’ve done in the past.

Because wen Mexico has a PRI at the goverment was over baby steps but forward and until other PAN become a goverment everything goes back. And Marcelo maybe is good but with the PRD beind him is garbage, the PRD doesnt need somebudy to go against them they themselves know how to lose all they can win the problem of the PRD is The PRD they need no enemies.

Peña Nieto will win the Mexican Elections in 2012 because he understands the importance of mass media AND has has tailored the necessary relationships for boosting his campaign aspirations. Secondly, for as long as Mercelo Ebrad does NOT distances himself from Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he will no have the support of any large corporation.

the only reason he will win is because of the great marketing and image people behind him, he choose a popular actress to become his wife/partner and unfutunatelly mexican live watching soap operas every day, there is nothing more importanto to know if “Maria” (poor girl) will marry “Carlos Alfonso” (rich son) (made up people) mexican tv has made the poeple stupid and believe in fairy tells and this is the result of it. How I wish for a better, greate sociaty as mexican; but I’m a minority and people consider my thoughts weird as I don’t follow the show biz media or don’t know who Pirru and Ana Barbara are and why are they going to get a divorced. This is Mexico, a huge soap opera where people believe by praying every day something will come from above and resolve our issues, instead of taking action as our fathers of the independence did, where are that kind of mexicans? we need more people with will, determination, leaders…not a soap opera leading man/woman.

He’s heavily endorsed by a party that was only miraculously defeated eight years ago-corruption, believe it or not, only makes winning easier. He’s also running against a candidate from a party whose ratings have been bombed, making ineffecient and backfiring mistakes at every term in the last six years.

Unfortunately, he is the result of mexican media work on his image. I truly believe that Mexico needs a woman to really change things and her name is Josefina Vazquez Mota. Neither Pena Miento nor Marcelo can make that change. Mexico is ready to be governed by a woman!

He is liberal, and although is a bit arrogant, he is honest. We need honesty in Mexico as you need oxygen to live. Mexico is in the brink of collapse for the lack of governance and oligarchs. You think Rusia is a tough place, check Mexico’s oligarchy and makes Russia look like switzerland

because mexicans are tired of the same political corruption, only rich people have a chance to move a head (20%) and the rest (80%) of us have to move to other countries to seek the opportunity that our country never provided for us to stay.

My hypothesis is that the next presidential election will not be an election based on issues like security nor economy -yes, they will be very important components of the main decision: the return of PRI-. The window of opportunity favores a leftist moderate figure like Marcelo Ebrard, because retrospective vote should be negative to National Action Party (mainly because people do not perceive a good performance during the last 10 years about issues like employment and public security. In order to constrast 2 options, the debate will be in terms of the statu quo agenda vs a leftist-progressive agenda.

    Why?
Marcelo Ebrard will win the 2012 Mexican presidential elections because he is pragmatic, open-minded, honest, and for the people of Mexico. Marcelo Ebrard has shown how to govern effectively as demonstrated by his modernization of the public transit system in Mexico City and the elimination of draconian policies that perpetuated corruption and abuses by Catholic Church.

    Why?
If the PRI and the Catholic Church had not kept Mexico in a sad state of ignorance, Marcelo Ebrard would win the 2012 Mexican presidential elections easily. Sadly, Pena Nieto (Read the PRI) will manage to win aided by a vast network of corruption, including organized crime and the drug cartels.
